About 93% of population are served by public sewerage system with 98% of sewage produced being collected and treated in Hong Kong. Yuen Long Sewage Treatment Works is one of sewage treatment plant in Hong Kong. The equipments including screw pump, detritor, sedimentation tank, aeration tank and sludge holding tank, etc., were monitoring and control by PLCs. Since the area of plant is large, wireless communication technology was used for communicating between PLCs at different stations.
